Note: this character is similar to the character composed of heart and sù, which has the pronunciations xiu, bi, xuan, and lie. This character is composed of heart and yuè, and only has the pronunciation yue. The Sound Rhymes (Jiyun) makes the distinction very clear. Recently, dictionaries have confusedly listed them together, citing one and discarding the other, and the Corrected Dictionary (Zhengzitong) concludes that it is one character possessing two meanings and that there are not two separate characters; this is also a subjective assumption.
