According to Sound Collection (Jiyun) and Collection of Rhymes (Yunhui), pronounced xian (falling-rising tone). The appearance of being strong, forceful, and angry. According to Zuo Commentary (Zuozhuan), Year 18 of Duke Zhao: Now the official in charge, in a rage, distributes weapons and climbs the city wall.
Also, according to Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun), pronounced xian (falling-rising tone). The meaning is the same.
Also, according to Sound Collection (Jiyun), pronounced xian (falling-rising tone). According to Yangzi's Regional Expressions (Fangyan), it means brave and fierce. In the regions of Jin and Wei, it is called xian.
According to Erya, with the phrase appearing as elegant and majestic: in the Commentary (Shiwen), for the word majestic, some editions write it as xian.
According to Collection of Rhymes (Yunhui), this is interchangeable with xian.
Textual Research: In the Commentary on the Erya, where the text reads majestic, some editions write it as xian. We have carefully followed the original book and changed the reference to read as the Commentary (Shiwen).
