As noted in the Book of Odes (Shijing), in the Beifeng section: The drums beat with a tang sound.
The commentary explains: Tang refers to the sound of beating drums.
According to the Rhyme Collection (Yunhui), it is also written in a variant form (dang).
In the Thoughtful Wandering Rhapsody (Siyou Fu) by Zhi Yu: Dang, I recognize my old home.
