Collection of Characters (Zihui): Pronounced qiang. It refers to a canopy or curtain.
Correctness Through Commentary (Zhengzitong): This is an incorrect character. According to the Radical (shí) section of Discussion of Writing and Explaining Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), the seal script is written as a variant form. According to Sun Mian, it is pronounced qiang, meaning the shape of a canopy or curtain. The pronunciation and definition in the Collection of Characters (Zihui) are similar to the meaning of the character in the Discussion of Writing and Explaining Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), but the character was incorrectly changed to 峕 and classified under the Radical: Mountain (shān). This is incorrect. One may cross-reference the notes for the character in the Radical: Earth (tǔ) section. The original commentary in the Collection of Characters (Zihui), which read as chouchang, is likely a miswriting of the characters for canopy and curtain. It is hereby corrected.
