Book of Changes (Yijing), Appended Remarks (Xici): Its principles are vast, and all things are not abandoned.
Book of Odes (Shijing), Lesser Odes of the Kingdom (Xiaoya): That slanderer has already gone too far.
Huainanzi, Treatise on Diligence (Xiuwuxun): Judging by this, the sages worry deeply for the common people.

Pan Yue, Poem on the Guanzhong Region (Guanzhong shi): The monarch worries about the toil of the ministers, who would not be awestruck and fearful? Ashamed of having offered no counsel, to hold a position idly is excessive. Rhymes with qin and ren.
