Pronounced ti. In Regional Languages (Fangyan) by Yang Xiong, it is stated that in Southern Chu, the father is called father shi, and the mother is called mother shi. Commentary by Guo Pu notes that in ancient times, the terms for parents were generally used for both the living and the deceased.
