Shuowen Jiezi states the pronunciation is qu (rising tone). Guangyun states the pronunciation is qu (rising tone). Jiyun states the pronunciation is yu (rising tone), read as qu (rising tone). It means robust or a craftsman. The Lost Book of Zhou (Yi Zhoushu) contains the term "qu craftsman."
