Guangyun, Jiyun, Yunhui, Zhengyun: Pronounced qiao. Meaning to resemble or to imitate. Liezi, Power of Destiny (Liming pian): An accidentally successful matter appears successful but is not truly successful; an accidentally failed matter appears failed but is not truly failed. Thus, confusion arises from superficial resemblance.
Jiyun, Yunhui: Pronounced xiao. Qiaoran, referring to the turning notes of a zither. Zhuangzi, Yielding the Kingship (Rangwang pian): Confucius's expression became solemn, and he turned to continue playing the zither and singing. Sometimes also written in a variant form (xiao) with the same meaning.
Also refers to a beautiful appearance. Commonly used to describe a woman who is beautiful.
