Pronounced kuàng.
In the Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun), it is defined as the character kuàng, pronounced kuàng.
According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen), the character kuàng may also be written with the light radical element, becoming the character 絖.
In the Commentary to the Book of Rites (Liji), Miscellaneous Records (Zaji), it is stated that kuàng refers to silk cocoon fluff.
In the Explanation of Sounds (Shiwen), it is noted that kuàng is also written as the character kuàng.
In the Book of Master Zhuang (Zhuangzi), Free and Easy Wandering (Xiaoyao You), it is written: They have for generations made their living by bleaching silk floss.
In the Explanation of Sounds and Meanings (Yinyi), it states that fine silk floss is called kuàng.
Furthermore, in the Jade Compilation (Yupian), kuàng is defined as eighty threads.
