Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen): A type of fungus that grows on the ground.
Erya, Explanation of Plants (Erya, Shicao): Zhongkui is a type of fungus.
Commentary: This fungus has different names based on its size; the large ones are called zhongkui, and the small ones are called jun.
Bowuzhi (Treatise on Miscellaneous Things): Fungus can be savory to eat, but it often causes fatal poisoning. It also refers to the morning fungus, which is the rose mallow.
Zhuangzi, Free and Easy Wandering (Zhuangzi, Xiaoyaoyou): The morning fungus does not know the beginning or the end of the month.
It is also the name of a mountain.
Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing): Within the Southern Seas is Mount Jun.
