Pronounced jue.
In the broad dictionary titled Guangya (Guangya), it is defined as pulling or seizing. Commonly written as horn. In the Zuo Tradition of the Spring and Autumn Annals (Zuozhuan), it is recorded: Like hunting a deer, the Jin people seize its head, while the various Rong tribes pull its legs. The commentary notes that to seize refers to holding the head, while to pull refers to tripping the feet.
Pronounced zhuo.
Means to pierce. In the Western Capital Rhapsody (Xijing fu) by Zhang Heng, there is a mention of being pierced by prongs. The commentary notes that this refers to being impaled or pierced. Also written in variant forms. Also written as a form meaning a sharp instrument.
Pronounced chuo.
The same as a word meaning to pierce or snatch. Also means to pierce and take.
