Refers to a mountain. According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu), the Tao River and the Dianjiang River both emerge from the northeast of Qiangtai Mountain and flow through the territory of the Tuyuhun. According to the Commentary on the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing Zhu), from Baitaoshe to Qiang, it spans three hundred li north to south; the land is covered in dragon-whisker grass and lacks firewood, thus it is called Qiang River. It is also written in a variant form (qiáng), read like qiáng.
