According to the Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun), it is the same as the character pronounced hù.
In Zhang Heng's Seven Arguments (Qibian): Like Xi Shi, with a beautiful and graceful appearance. It also means to boast or display.
In the Biography of Han Anguo in the Book of the Former Han (Qianhan Shu): The father and elder brothers of the Prince of Liang were all those whom the Son of Heaven had visited; the grand chariots and cavalry were all bestowed by the Emperor, and were thus used to boast and display to the border districts.
Annotation: This means to use them to boast or display to the frontier districts.
The Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun) notes it as a simplified form of the character pronounced hù.
