Meaning: To wash the face. Equivalent to the character hui.
Book of Documents (Shangshu), chapter Testamentary Charge (Guming): The king then washed his face with water.
Explanation of Texts (Shiwen): Pronounced hui (falling tone). Ma Rong states: Hui means to wash the face.
Also, in Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun), pronounced kui (falling tone). The meaning is the same.
