According to the Jade Chapters (Yupian), it refers to hiding items in the front of one's garments, and also refers to holding something in one's embrace. Items kept inside clothing are referred to as huai, while items held in the hand are referred to as wo. It is also used interchangeably with the character huai (to cherish).
