The sound is hù. A county name. During the Han dynasty, it belonged to You Fufeng (Yòu Fúfēng). Also interchangeable with hù. In the Book of Han (Qian Han), Treatise on Geography (Dili Zhi), it is recorded as 'Hu County.' The commentary states: 'This was an ancient state, Youhu Valley Pavilion (Yǒuhù Gǔtíng), which was the state of Youhu (Yǒuhù) that was attacked by Qi of the Xia dynasty.'
