Broad Rimes of Guangyun (Guangyun): Beautiful stone, inferior to jade. Identical to the character pronounced fu.
Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing): In the Kuaiji Mountains, there is much fu stone below. Commentary: Guo Pu states: Wu-fu is a stone that resembles jade. Today, Linxiang County in Changsha produces this stone, which has a red background with white veins and a green color that is indistinct and blurred. Wu Renchen states: In the Commentary on the Classic of Waterways (Shuijingzhu), this is written as fu.
