According to the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) and Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun), the pronunciation is fồng. It is the name of a river. The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing) records: Mount Danhu is the place where the Feng River originates.
Also, according to the Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun), the pronunciation is péng. The term fengbo refers to a feeling of distress or repressed agitation. Zuo Si uses this in his Rhapsody on the Capital of Wu (Wudu fu), in the phrase describing dense, swirling mists.
Additionally, the pronunciation is běng. The term fengweng describes the appearance of splashing water. The Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun) notes that this character is sometimes also written in a variant form (féng).
