Book of Odes (Shijing), Minor Odes of the Kingdom: Lush is the wormwood (e), growing in that sheltered bend.
Commentary: It is wormwood.
Sub-commentary: Lu Ji says it grows in damp, marshy fields. Its leaves resemble the Xie wormwood but are finer. It grows in clumps in the third month. The central stem can be eaten raw or steamed; it is fragrant and delicious, with a taste quite like mugwort.
Also, Minor Odes of the Kingdom: Sturdy is the wormwood (e), it is not e, it is wormwood (hao).
Wings of the Erya: The e is the fan of antiquity. When it first grows, it is called e; when fully grown, it is called hao.
