Book of Etiquette and Ceremonial (Yili), Section on the capping ceremony of a scholar: The diviner holds the divining stalks, removes the upper quiver, holds them together, and advances to receive instructions from the master.
Commentary: A vessel for storing divining stalks. Nowadays, those who store bows and arrows call it a quiver.
