Pronounced du. The seam on the back of a garment. Book of Rites (Liji), Deep Robe section: Reaching the heel with a plumb line. Commentary: The ankle refers to the du, which is the seam corresponding to the back panel.
Also, a garment with asymmetrical panels. Discourses of the States (Jin Yu): He ordered Shensheng to attack Dongshan, wearing a garment with uneven seams.
