Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) and Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) state it is pronounced da. Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) says it means to rebuke one another. Han Yu, Epitaph for Zhang Che: From darkness to light, he clarified all things himself, and no one could change him. I use this inscription to manifest his steadfastness; this is the rebuke of one who is not virtuous. Also, Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) says it refers to the sound of people calling out to one another. Also, Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) and Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) state it is pronounced xia. Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) says it is also the sound of people calling out to one another.
