Guangya (Classic of Broad Glosses) defines this as to touch or to collide. Boli (Extensive Glosses) defines this as to poke or to strike. According to the preface to the text on sacrificial rites for ancient mounds by Xie Huilian: Using one's hands to touch and disturb it, it immediately turned to ash and vanished. Commentary states: In the southern regions, people use the word chen to refer to touching objects with the hand. According to the collaborative poem on the southern city wall by Han Yu: Split the head, seize, strike, and collide. According to Jiyun (Rhyme Collection), it is sometimes written in a variant form (zheng). It is also written in a variant form.
