The larger versions, several feet in diameter, come from the kingdoms of Funan, Gaochang, and Shule. They have raised centers like floating duckweed and are strung with leather cords, struck together to harmonize music. In the court music of the Tang dynasty, there was music featuring bronze bo played in harmony.
