Guangyun (Guangyun): Pronounced bo. Jiyun (Jiyun), Yunhui (Yunhui), Zhengyun (Zhengyun): Pronounced bo.
Shuowen (Shuowen): An ancient board game played with six sticks and twelve pieces.
Chu Ci (Chuci): In Summoning the Soul (Zhaohun), it mentions ivory chess pieces and the six-stick game of bo. Annotation: One throws six sticks and moves six pieces, which is why it is called the six-stick bo game.
Shiben (Shiben): In ancient times, Wu Cao invented the game of bo.
Yangzi (Yangzi): In Dialects (Fangyan), the game is called bi or sometimes jun. In the regions of Qin and Jin, it is called bo; in the regions of Wu and Chu, it is called bi.
