Guangyun (Dictionary of Rhymes) and Zhengyun (Correct Rhymes) both state it is pronounced zuan. Jiyun (Collected Rhymes) and Yunhui (Collection of Rhymes) state it is pronounced zuan.
Shuowen Jiezi (Explanation of Graphs and Analysis of Characters) defines it as to continue.
Book of Documents (Shangshu), Zhonghui zhi Gao (Announcement of Zhonghui): To continue the old duties of Yu. The commentary states: To continue the achievements of Yu and govern his former territories.
Book of Odes (Shijing), Bin Feng: Then continue the martial achievements. The commentary states: Zuan means to continue.
