The Spring and Autumn Annals (Chunqiu), Duke Cheng, Sixth Year, records: "Captured Zhuàn." The commentary states it was a vassal state. The Gongyang Commentary (Gongyang Zhuan) states it was a city of the State of Zhulou. There is also Zhuàn Gate, the name of a city gate. The Zuo Commentary (Zuozhuan), Duke Xiang, Ninth Year, records: "The feudal lords attacked Zheng, advancing on Zhuàn Gate." The commentary states it was a city gate of the State of Zheng.
