Guangyun (Guangyun) and Jiyun (Jiyun) state it is pronounced through the fanqie method as wáng jǔ qiè, sounding like yǔ. Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen Jiezi) states it was a feudal state of the Yún clan. The Spring and Autumn Annals (Chunqiu), Year 18 of Duke Zhao, records: "The people of Zhū entered Yǔ." Commentary: The state of Yǔ is today's Kaiyang County in Langya. It is also used as a surname. Guangyun states that descendants of the rulers of the state of Yǔ took the state name as their surname, dropping the City (yì) radical and retaining the character Yu (yǔ). Yunhui (Yunhui) states it is pronounced through the fanqie method as guǒ yǔ qiè. Wuyin Jiyun (Wuyin Jiyun) states it is pronounced through the fanqie method as jū yǔ qiè, sounding like jǔ. The meaning is the same.
