According to the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), pronounced huan. According to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced juan.
According to the Jade Chapters (Yupian), the Spring and Autumn of Master Lu (Lüshi Chunqiu) states: Yi Yin said, "To be sweet and not huan means the food is sweet." Note that in the current version of the Spring and Autumn of Master Lu (Lüshi Chunqiu), the text appears as "sweet and not nong."
According to the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), huan means to not be sated by sweetness. According to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), huan huan means to eat with great sweetness.
The Spring and Autumn of Master Lu (Lüshi Chunqiu) states: "Not huan yet fragrant."
