According to Tang Rhyme (Tangyun), Jiyun (Jiyun), and Yunhui (Yunhui), the pronunciation is yuān.
Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen Jiezi) states: To bend. Composed of 'rabbit' (tù) and 'canopy' (mì). A rabbit under a canopy cannot run away, further indicating bending and folding.
Guangyun (Guangyun) states: To be wronged and bent.
Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), Biography of Yu Dingguo: "When Zhang Shizhi was Grand Judge, there were no wronged people in the empire. When Dingguo was Grand Judge, the people did not consider themselves wronged."
Also, Yuanju County. Yunhui states: Located in Cao Prefecture. The character ju (句) is pronounced qú here.
Zhengyun (Zhengyun) states: Also written as the variant form 寃.
