Pronounced xu. Xu yu refers to the beautiful appearance of a woman. Record of the Former Han (Qianhan shu): The Empress was named Zhi, and her courtesy name was E xu.
Also, pronounced qu. Xu xu refers to an appearance of harmony and friendliness.
Also, pronounced xu. Refers to being at ease and enjoying pleasure. Master Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals (Lushi chunqiu): Swallows and sparrows build nests in the hall, with the mother bird and her young playing together in happy harmony.
