Hai Collection, Upper Volume Radical: Ghost (guǐ) Kangxi stroke count: 18 Page 1462, Entry 38 Pronounced wǎng. Same as the variant form (wǎng). In the Wide Rhyme (Guangyun), it is pronounced wǎng. In the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) and the Rhyme Compilation (Yunhui), it is also pronounced wǎng. In the Jade Chapter (Yupian), it defines the term wangliang as a water spirit, resembling a three-year-old child, reddish-black in color. In the School Sayings of Confucius (Kongzi Jiayu), it mentions the monsters of wood and stone, known as kui and wangliang. Note: In the Commentary of Zuo (Zuozhuan), it is written as wangliang. In the Discourses of the States (Guoyu), it is written as the variant form (wǎng).
