In the Jade Chapter (Yupian), it is defined as speaking much without substance. Also, according to the Broad Rimes (Guangyun) and Collected Rimes (Jiyun), it is pronounced nong. According to the Broad Rimes (Guangyun), nong is an expression of anger, appearing in the Forest of Characters (Zilin).
