Record in History of the Former Han (Qian Hanshu), Biography of Sima Xiangru: As for the stones, they are red jade and mei.
Note: Jin Zhuo states that mei is a fire-resistant pearl. Shi Gu states that the fire-resistant pearl is a type of fire-bead produced in the south.
Also used as a personal name. Records in History of the Tang Dynasty (Tangshu) mention Zhu Mei.
