Broad Rhymes (Guangyun) and Collected Rhymes (Jiyun): Pronounced mo (entering tone).
Extended Observations (Guangya): Bo tou refers to a type of head wrap.
Yangzi: Regional Dialects (Fangyan): Luo tou is the same as bo tou. From the mountain passes westward, in the regions of Qin and Jin, it is called luo tou. In Southern Chu, between the Yangtze and Xiang rivers, it is called bo tou.
Explanation of Names (Shiming): Xiao tou, or sometimes called bo tou, implies that it is wrapped horizontally from the back to the front.
Categorized Chapters (Leipian): Bo is a slanted head cloth.
Also, Extended Observations (Guangya): It is called shuo bo. Note: Bo and pa are identical in sound and meaning, and should be used interchangeably.
