According to the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), pronounced mou.
Dui-mao refers to a small earthen mound. It also refers to earthenware.
As stated in the Book of Rites (Liji), in the chapter on Internal Rules (Neize): A doun-mou, a goblet, and an ewer. The commentary states: Mou is read as mao.
Also refers to pottery vessels.
As stated in the Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), in the chapter on the Offices of Heaven (Tianguan), regarding the physician who treats ulcers: Whenever treating an ulcer, use the five poisons to attack it. The commentary states: The medicine of the five poisons is mixed with yellow mao, and placed inside with chalcanthite, cinnabar, realgar, arsenolite, and magnetite. Heat for three days and nights; when the smoke rises, brush it off with chicken feathers to treat the ulcer.
Yang Yi's Notes (Yangyi biji) mentions that Yang Yu cured a cheek ulcer using Zheng Xuan's yellow mao five-poison medicine.
Also, according to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced wu. Has the same meaning as earthenware.
