Chou Collection, Middle Volume Radical: Scholar (shì) Character: Mang Kangxi Stroke Count: 14 Page 244, Entry 09 As recorded in the Classified Compilation (Leipian), pronounced mang (rising tone). The third son of Sun Xiu was named Mang, as seen in the Records of Wu (Sanguo Wuzhi). The Compilation of Rhymes (Pianyun) writes this as a variant form. The Collection of Characters (Zihui) records this as a variant form, pronounced lu (falling tone), which is an error. The character should be written with the component for mound, not with the component for depart.
