Book of Odes (Shijing), Minor Odes of the Kingdom: Explanatory commentary states that in roasting rituals, the fat of the intestines is taken.
Jiyun (Jiyun): Also defined as the fat located between the intestines.
Book of Rites (Liji), Suburban Temple Rituals: Taking the fat of the intestines, roasting them, and offering the head to repay the yang principle. Commentary states that the fat between the intestines is used.
Zhengzitong (Zhengzitong): During sacrifices, it is mixed with artemisia so that the aroma reaches the walls and the house.
