The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing) records: On Kunlun Mountain, there is a beast shaped like a sheep but with four horns, named tu-lou, which eats humans. The Bamboo Annals (Zhushu Jinian) commentary records: There is a giant lou that is as large as a sheep. The Memorial to the Emperor by the Officials of Wei (Wei Gongqing Shang Zunhao Zou) records: When the Youxiong clan rose to power, giant lou appeared on the earth.
