"Book of Documents (Shu)" - "All officials learn from one another." Also written as "liao".
"Zuo Zhuan (Zuo Commentary)" - Xun Linfu said: Those who serve in the same government office are called "liao".
Also used as a surname. For example, Liao An, a grand official of Yangyi in the Jin state.
