According to the Jade Chapters (Yupian), it means to bind or stitch. The Book of Tang (Tangshu), Treatise on Official Posts, mentions the deliberation and categorization of the empire's prefectures into two supports, six heroes, ten prominences, and ten tight locations, along with gradations of high, middle, and low.
