Zuo Zhuan (Chronicle of Zuo): To obtain the outstanding (jun) is called victory.
Correct Meaning: Victory. To defeat their army and capture their heroic and outstanding individuals. Also means to be distinct.
Zuo Zhuan (Chronicle of Zuo): Duke of Jin, Bo Xia, said: Why throw into the pot? It is merely to hit the middle (jun).
Commentary: This means throwing into the pot is not enough to be considered a distinct or extraordinary feat.
Also means outstanding or unconventional.
Shishuo (A New Account of Tales of the World): Wang Cheng said: My elder brother resembles the Dao, yet his sharp spirit is too outstanding (jun).
