Name of a river. Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu): The Qu River flows southeast through Kaifeng County, where the Sui and Huan rivers originate.
Also the name of a hexagram. Correct Meaning of the Book of Changes (Yijing Zhengyi): Huan is a term meaning to disperse or loosen. A person of great virtue establishes achievements and creates a legacy; by dispersing difficulties and dissolving dangers, this is called huan. Book of Odes (Shijing), Odes of Zhou: Continuing their plans, scattering and diffusing.
