Yupian (Jade Chapters) states: A white Huan pheasant.
Guangyun (Broad Rhymes) states: Another name for a pheasant.
Erya (Approaching the Standard), Chapter on Explaining Birds, states: Huan pheasant. The commentary notes: It is white. In the region east of the Yangtze River, it is called white Huan, also known as white pheasant.
Additionally, according to Jiyun (Collected Rhymes), pronounced han (level tone). The meaning is the same. Jiyun notes this is sometimes written as a variant form.
