Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), Biography of Lord Mengchang: Master Feng was very poor and possessed only a single sword. There was also what is called kuai-gou. Note: Kuai is the name of a type of grass, and gou refers to the material used to wrap the sword hilt. It describes a sword that lacks ornamental coverings and is instead wrapped with kuai grass rope, hence the term kuai-gou.
