Wei Collection, Middle Volume Radical: Net (wǎng) Gāng; Kangxi stroke count: 11; Page 947, Entry 28 According to the Correct Characters Guide (Zhengzitong), it is pronounced gang, with the same sound as the character for firm. Tiangang is the name of a constellation. The Kinship of the Three (Cantongqi) records: When the elm leaves fall in the second lunar month, the Kui star moves to the position of Mao. When the wheat grows in the eighth lunar month, the Tiangang star occupies the position of You. Note: Tiangang refers to the Big Dipper. Also, in the Preface to the Lang Books by Bai Yuchan, it mentions the creation of talismans, seal scripts, and incantations of the firmament. Textual research: In the original text of the Kinship of the Three (Cantongqi), the character for fall should be added after the characters for second month and elm. The character for west should be corrected to the character for You.
