Book of Etiquette and Ceremonial (Yili): Gifts consist of bundles of spun silk. Commentary: Spun silk is made from spun threads, known today as binding silk.
Zuo Tradition (Zuo Zhuan): He took refuge in Jizhang and spun there. Commentary: To spin refers to spinning hemp to make thread.
Also, Discourses of the States (Jin Yu): Xianzi seized it and hung it from the locust tree in the courtyard. Commentary: To spin here means to hang.
