Tang Rhymes (Tang yun): Pronounced tu. This is the name of a type of grass.
According to the Book of Erya (Erya), in the chapter Interpreting Grasses: Du is also known as Fuwang. Note: This grass grows by the seaside and its shape resembles the reed (guan) and the rush (lin). Today, the people in the Nanyue region gather it to weave mats.
Also according to Collected Rhymes (Jiyun): Pronounced du. This refers to the sea blite.
Textual Research: In the Book of Erya (Erya), chapter Interpreting Grasses, the entry is Du Fu. Note: The grass grows by the seaside and resembles the reed (guan) and the rush (lin). We have prudently added the character Wang after the character Fu in the original text and corrected the reading from Guan Lan to Guan Lin.
