According to the Tang Rhyme (Tangyun), the Jiyun, and the Collection of Rhymes (Yunhui), the pronunciation is duan. According to the Correct Rhyme (Zhengyun), the pronunciation is duan.
According to the Tang Rhyme (Tangyun), the name of a tree. According to the Er Ya (Erya), an encyclopedic dictionary, in the section on trees, the duan is the tuo. The commentary states that the duan is also called the tuo; the tree resembles a white poplar, and its timber can withstand moisture.
