According to the Tang Rhymes (Tángyùn), pronounced chāngyǔ qīe; according to the Collected Rhymes (Jíyùn) and the Rhyme Compendium (Yùnhuì), pronounced chǎnglü qīe, with the sound of chǔ.
According to Explaining Characters (Shuōwén Jiězì), chǔ means to stop. Composed of the radical Go Slowly (suī), it signifies stopping when reaching a table (jī).
According to the Jade Chapters (Yùpiān), it is the same as chù.
